Blue Mountain has a German by Satellite program that involves students directly with the German professor, Dr. Wohlert, in Oklahoma. Our students are able to be on direct line during the time of broadcast.

Our business department, under the instruction of Mrs Dot Jackson, has had FBLA participants at the national level for several years. Our students have received first place honors at both district and state levels. Because of these honors, some of our students have been able to tour Washington, D.C., California, and Florida. Some of this success can be contributed to our updated technology lab.

Blue Mountain Elementary has a successful Writing to Read lab. The students have learned the phonetic system of spelling which allows them to put their thoughts into stories. The students have really enjoyed creating and personalizing their own greeting cards.

We feel that this new technology will spread throughout our community and create more parental involvement in the future.
